학교소개
1817년 설립되어 매년 3만 5천명 이상의 학생이 재학하고 있는 미시간 주립 대학교는 미시간주 디트로이트에서
조금 떨어진 앤아버에 위치해 있다. 학비는 주립대로서는 조금 비싼 편이지만, 아이비리그 대학들과도 비슷하다는
좋은 평가를 받는다. 미시간 주립대의 음대는 1880년에 설립되어 미국내에서도 손꼽히게 긴 역사를 갖고 있고 우수 음대
순위에서 항상 5위권 안에 들어가는 명성을 자랑한다. 교수진 역시 왕성한 활동을 하는 뮤지션들로 구성이 되어 있고,
앤 아버 지역내에서도 많은 공연 기회를 제공해 다양한 경험과 수준 높은 교육을 함께 경험할 수 있다.
특히 미국 내에서도 손에 꼽히는 공연장인 Hill Auditorium에서는 유명 뮤지션들을 비롯해 다양한 공연을 접할 수 있는것이 특징이다. 여담으로 구글의 창립자 Larry Page, 마돈나, 수영선수 마이클 펠프스 같은 유명인들의 모교이기도 하다.
